Victor Leon 1945 - Jan 13. 2009

                                  Victor Leon

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Victor Leon graduated high school in Germany and read a lot, said Elizabeth Leon, his wife of 24 years. “That's why he was a very knowledgeable person in all subjects.”

They first met in Hawaii, where she worked in real estate and he was a professional singer.

The couple moved to Los Angeles in 1985 to work in real estate together.

When they moved to Palm Desert about 20 years later, “He said ‘Now that we're going to be retired, I can go back to my music business and pick up where I left behind,'” she said.

He was passionate about the music business and sang in local charity shows and special functions, she said.

Most recently, Victor Leon was the executive producer for “Musical Chairs,” which was performed at the Annenberg Theater at the Palm Springs Art Museum.

Victor Leon was a singer “in a Frank Sinatra kind of vein,” according to his friend of 20 years, Palm Desert resident Bob Grunder, 55.

He was a super-nice guy,” he said.

December 15, 1968 --- February 24, 1986
If my days were untroubled and my heart
always light.
would I seek that fair land where
there is no night?
If I never grew weary with the weight
of my Load.
Would I search for God's peace at the
end of the road?
If I never knew sickness and never
felt pain,
Would I reach for a hand to help and
sustain?
If I walked not with sorrow and lived
without loss.
Would my soul seek solace at the
foot of the Cross?
If all I desired was mine day
by day,
Would I kneel before God and eaenestly
pray?
If my life were all pleasure and I never
knew pain,
I would seek God less often and need
Him much less.
For God's grace is sought more often
in times of distress,
And no one knows Him or sees Him
as plain
As those who have met Him on the
pathway of pain,
I've been there, that's why I know

.....for I want to go wherever you go, and to live wherever
you live . . .

Robert H. Feldman
March 27, 1939 – December 9, 2007

Robert H. Feldman, the longtime Executive Director of the San Francisco Board of Appeals, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 of a heart infection at the age of 68.

Robert served in the crucial city post for 22 years and was still acting in that capacity when he became ill four days before he died. In his position, he was often relied on by others for his prodigious knowledge of city planning laws.

Before he took his job with the Board of Appeals - a quasi-judicial body that hears appeals of permit and licensing decisions by several city agencies - Robert supervised the Planning Department's information section where staffers had to have an in-depth knowledge of the planning code.

Robert was born in Passaic, N.J., and grew up in the town of Nutley where his father, Dr. Sidney Feldman, had a dental practice.  His father accepted a commission in the U.S. Army and was ultimately posted as a dentist at the USAREUR Ordnance School in Fussen from 1953-1955. During Dr. Feldman’s service, Robert commuted weekly by train from Fussen to Munich-American High School, where he served as Sophomore Class President in 1955.  He completed his high school education at Nutley High School after which he obtained his B.A. with honors from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and his law degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

In addition to his work for the City and County of San Francisco, Mr. Feldman served as a long-time volunteer with both Jewish Vocational Services and the Rose Resnick Lighthouse for the Blind; he also was past president of Golden Gate Lodge of B'nai B'rith, and an avid San Francisco Giants' fan.

Mr. Feldman is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Linda, and his dear brother and sister-in-law, Bill
